SUNSHINE COAST INTERACTIVE REAL ESTATE MAP
ADDS LOCAL BUSINESS INFORMATION SECHELT, BC, CANADA — May 27, 2011 — Sunshine Coast real estate agent Gary Little has today integrated local business information with his interactive real estate maps of the area. Now — for the first time — it is possible to see the locations of major businesses in the vicinity of a property for sale as well as basic contact information for these businesses. All MLS®-listed homes and vacant lots on the Sunshine Coast — an area located in British Columbia 40 minutes by ferry from West Vancouver — are displayed on the maps with rare exceptions. This new capability leverages Google Inc.'s new Places API (Application Programming Interface) which was launched earlier this month at the Google I/O conference in San Francisco. The API provides easy access to a comprehensive, global database of business information maintained by Google and its data providers.
"It's very convenient to see what types of businesses are near a home for sale or in a particular area of town, especially now that buyers are more sensitive than ever to minimizing driving expenses for the sake of the environment as well as their pocketbooks," said Gary Little of Royal LePage Sunshine Coast. "I'm also actively improving the location data for these businesses to ensure the businesses are accurately placed on the maps and are easy to find."
